ABOUT THE ANNUAL M.M. SINGHVI MEMORIAL – BAR COUNCIL OF INDIA MOOT COURT COMPETITION
The 1 st All India M.M. Singhvi Memorial Moot Court Competition was commenced in the year 1996 as a humble and modest beginning sponsored by the M.M. Singhvi Memorial Charitable Trust, Jodhpur. The first four editions of the competition were organised by the Law Faculty, Jai Narayan Vyas University, Jodhpur. But since the 5 th All India M.M. Singhvi Memorial Moot Court Competition, 2001, the National Law University, Jodhpur has been organising the competition. From the year 2003, the Bar Council of India became co-sponsors for the Competition and the Competition has grown in popularity since then. In the decennial edition of the Competition held last year, the organizers felt that the competition was mature enough to handle participation of teams from abroad as well. Thus, a proposition on Public International Law was created, and teams from all over the world were invited to participate in the same. The response from foreign teams was overwhelming; fifteen (15) foreign teams responded favorably to the endeavor to make the Competition truly international, with ten (10) teams eventually registering for the Competition. The consolidated results for the past editions are available towards the end of this page.
